Materials Needed
WPC Decking Tiles
Measuring Tape
Chalk or Pencil
Rubber Mallet
Utility Knife (if cutting tiles is necessary)
Edge Trims & Corner (optional)
Prepare the Surface
Clean the Area
Ensure the surface where the decking tiles will be installed is clean, dry, and level.
Measure the Space
Measure the total area to be covered. This helps determine the number of tiles needed.
Plan the Layout
Layout Plan
Plan the layout of the tiles to minimise cutting. It's best to start from a corner and work your way outwards.
Check Fit
Dry-lay a few tiles to see how they fit and make any necessary adjustments to the layout.
Install the Tiles
Start in a Corner
Begin installation from a corner of the area. Lay the first tile and ensure it is square to the edges.
Connect Tiles
Align the connectors of the second tile with the first and press down until you hear a click, indicating the tiles are securely connected.
Continue Laying Tiles
Continue this process, ensuring each tile clicks into place with the adjacent tiles. Use a rubber mallet to gently tap the tiles into place if needed.
Cut Tiles to Fit (If Necessary)
Measure and Mark
If you need to cut tiles to fit around edges or obstacles, measure the area to be cut and mark it on the tile.
Cut the Tile
Use a utility knife to score the tile along the marked line and then snap it along the score line.
Install Edge Trims (Optional)
Place Trims
If using edge trims, place them around the perimeter of the installed tiles for a finished look.
Secure Trims
Ensure the edge trims are securely attached to the tiles.
Final Check
Inspect the Installation
Check all tiles to ensure they are securely connected and lying flat.
Clean the Surface
Wipe down the surface of the tiles to remove any dust or debris from the installation process.
Tips for Maintenance
Regular Cleaning
Sweep or hose off the tiles regularly to remove dirt and debris.
Deep Cleaning
Occasionally, clean the tiles with a mild soap solution and a soft brush.
Avoid Heavy Impact
Avoid dropping heavy objects on the tiles to prevent damage.
